GRAND OPENING : FIRST IMAGES OF THE MUSKET ROOM NEW YORK | BY ALEXANDER WATERWORTH INTERIORS

This summer saw the opening of Musket Room on the beautiful Elizabeth Street, New York. Restaurateur Jennifer Vitagliano and Chef Matt Lambert combined to create a modern twist on New Zealand's culinary past and bring the spirit of the cuisine and culture to Manhattan's Nolita neighbourhood.

Alexander Waterworth Interiors employed raw materials throughout the space to enhance its folksy ambiance. Exposed lime washed brick has been used to soften the inherent harshness of the brick yet maintain the authentic feel of the property. Reclaimed boards sourced from local barns are used throughout the space creating a warm and homely ambiance.

In the front room a spectacular 18ft walnut slab sits on a concrete plinth, forming a striking bar. This rich walnut timber is implemented throughout the space as table tops adding to the elegant feel of the space. Scalloped tiling extends from the bar and oversized organic leafy arrangements throughout the interior add quirky elements to the interior. Deep blue leather banquettes wrapping around the space sitting in front of mid century inspired chairs. The back room offers rare views into the herb garden, used daily by Chef Lambert for his incredible dishes.

Big thank you to local architect firm Huis Workshop for all their help during the process.
