The downtown New York interiors vibe has been bubbling in London for the last 2-3 years. Any formula which works in New York and London will tend to hit other parts of the world at some point and is now starting to be seen in Hong Kong with a number of restaurants, including Linguini Fini and her sister restaurant, Posto Pubblico. Both Italian restaurants, Linguini Fini is the more contemporary of the two, aesthetically speaking. Posto's vacade looks like it's been copy and pasted from Keith McNally's Pulino's in New York and doesn't look too bad, however, the interior is really trying for the downtown NY vibe and because it's so forced (fake bricks for example) it looks fake and lacks the authentic feel.
Our top tip: try avoid mozzarella in HK.
