We saw this a few years ago in Elle Decor and the kitchen in particular has always been something of interest. There are rare occasions when a space really gets to you which is sometimes indescribable and this was one of them. We haven't yet had the chance to really utilise this as a design inspiration but we hope soon we can. The idea of using a simple old oak cupboard, in this case we think an italian, certainly western european, 18th century piece, mixed with a contemporary island seems to work so well in its settings. Modern art hangs in a traditional space with contemporary and antique pieces enhancing the beauty of the space and perfecting what so few get truly right, the marriage of mixing old and new.
