ANTIQUES: ITALIAN GILTWOOD AND POLYCHROME PAINTED CABINET

A late 16/17th decorative cabinet. The piece was sold through Chrities in New York 2003. Standing only 22 inches high, it has a gallery over the foliate with carved pilasters either side of the centered door. The plinth has been added later, you can tell by the difference in the colour of the timber, with ball feet supporting it.
Due to its size, it would never be a show stopper within itself but is a stunning piece and with the right kind of placing would look incredible in various different surroundings.
